Baking Ops
Service Disabled Veteran OwnedPasadena, MD 21122We are a veteran owned and operated business dedicated to giving back to our service members. Baking Ops was born in in a small kitchen in Iraq and has grown into our current Buy a Dozen, Give a Dozen Maryland-based small business. For every dozen cookies or tray of brownies purchased locally in Maryland, a dozen cookies or tray of brownies are packaged and sent to a deployed service member. There are few things that bring joy to a service member’s heart while deployed like being on the mail recipient list. Being on the list reminds the deployed member that someone back in the states or across the world is thinking of them. Being overseas, especially deployed to a combat zone, can make our service members feel disconnected and as if the world is passing one by. Something as simple as a box of homemade cookies and a little note to show appreciation for their sacrifices can serve as a reminder that they are not forgotten, cared for and missed. Having been on both the giving and receiving end of these care packages, we have learned the best methods to properly preserve delicious, home baked goods. After seeing the most successful (and unsuccessful!) boxes first hand, we devoted our time to testing and perfecting our recipes and packaging techniques to ensure a well-intentioned gift does not end up melted, moldy, or tasting of soap from other items improperly packaged. No one likes delicious brownies with a soapy aftertaste. Our baking and packaging techniques guarantee that does not happen.

The Coffee Box
Service Disabled Veteran OwnedMaryville, IL 62062It all started with two military veterans who were frankly tired of their local coffee shops overcharging them for horrible coffee. As career military professionals, the two decided to put their skills to work, identifying how to drastically cut the cost of coffee while still providing a great cup of Joe. Almost one year later, The Coffee Box became a reality. As a veteran-owned company, we aim to partner with other local & veteran-owned businesses. Comments on the Military and Business Ownership As Co-owner and Founder of The Coffee Box, we designed the business to be managed and run through a hierarchical system. Share management, vision, and strategy in addition to product placement and branding. Adjoining duties include Search Engine Optimization (SEO), website design, development, and social media platforms management for full-stack business analysis. The business and The Coffee Box operating model are comparable to the Joint Deployment Distribution Enterprise (JDDE).
