    Crestline, CA 92325-0608

TOUCH OF HOME Support 4R Deployed Military has been shipping care packages to our deployed military since 2003. We now average 50-70 flat rate boxes a week. We are in email contact with each of our contact persons. We specialize in FOB areas where some of the most basic needs are hard to get a hold of. We send a "Sample Box" and a letter requiring a reply, so we know boxes are getting where we want them. When I hear from them, regular shipments begin until they redeploy. Our "signature item" is a one quart Zip-Lock bag billed with hotel size shampoo, lotion, soaps, decks of cards, hard candy, small travel games, etc. We wrap each bag with a new pair of soft white socks with two rubber bands. Since we are unique in our regular contact with our heroes, we are able to meet special needs, sometimes. We were able to deliver over $3,000 postage worth of "Full Body Wipes" to a base without showers for three months. We send Beanie Babies for comfort of Heroes plus they give them out to children they encounter. Our heroes have mentioned keeping one for their own comfort in a pocket...for a "Touch of Home." Our biggest need is Postage Money. If you have a loved one deployed and wish to get enough boxes to them so they can SHARE, check out Pay Pal on our web site and designate a hero to get your boxes. You would need to email me an address and name to ship to. God Bless our Brave Military and keep them safe! Comments on the Military and Business Ownership William Boone, was a Fleet Marine Corpsman in pre-Vietnam era. San Diego, CA 92161-0001

Founded in 2001, American Combat Veterans of War (ACVOW) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization comprised of both veteran and non-veteran personnel (volunteers) within a community. All are committed to assisting veterans in re-adjusting to living productively in a peaceful society. ACVOW’s signature characteristic is its veteran volunteers who are available to mentor and assist other veterans suffering from post traumatic stress. ACVOW assists veterans in a number of ways. First, it provides a forum, or safe zone, called the Safe Warrior Outreach Program. Veterans come together and share their combat and post combat experiences with other veterans. They also exchange dialogue directly with those who share common challenges and can offer assistance in coping with the adjustment to peaceful society. Furthermore, with the encouragement of their peers, combat veterans are assured that it is indeed normal and suitable to seek further counseling if necessary. ACVOW is one of the best tools at helping combat veterans overcome the stigma within the military of seeking help in coping with post traumatic stress. Second, ACVOW serves as an advocacy organization which draws attention and awareness to combat veterans suffering from post traumatic stress. ACVOW not only reaches out to other veterans, but to public officials, government representatives and the public at large.
