I am John S. I like many of you when confronted with my injury didn’t know where to turn and it became almost impossible for me to get around my home, so I had to turn to outside help in this matter. Boy, little did I know how expenses and how time consuming it became; it took over 3 years just to get a contractor that didn’t want to take an arm and a leg for their work. As we interact with our vets we help them with any questions they may have that we are able to answer. Hero Labradors' mission is to breed and select Labrador Retrievers of the highest quality, possessing the aptitude for service dog training, and to provide these dogs at no cost to service dog training programs across the United States. Selected programs agree to train and provide these dogs at no cost to disabled American Veterans, the Military Community, and First Responders and their families.

Izabella's Canine Rescue and Rehabilitation saves dogs that have been abandoned, abused, neglected, and discarded. We get them healthy and then find them loving homes. When we rescue a dog that passes our behavior evaluation, we begin their training as a service dog. We adopt out all over the world, and also pair veterans with service dogs as much as we can. By pairing our rescue dogs with veterans we save 2 lives.

Give Us Paws is a Service-Connected, Disabled Veteran Founded, Texas, Federally recognized 501(c)(3), nonprofit corporation based in Houston that provides free, in-home training and certification of eligible candidates' existing dogs as service animals for disabled veterans, especially with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)/emotional disabilities. We also provide services to disabled adults and children eligible under the ADA, but veterans receive priority for funding and training. We concentrate on funding our training of service animals with handlers suffering from PTSD, diabetes and limited mobility issues in order to improve the quality of their lives. There are thousands of returning veterans suffering from PTSD having issues adjusting to normal life. Last year, the VA cut all funding for service animals of veterans with PTSD and there's a large gap that needs to be filled with extremely limited resources. To acquire a trained Service Dog can cost $20,000.00-$30,000.00; the waiting lists can be multi-years long, programs for training and funding for that training are scarce. We provide an in-home training program free of charge to our disabled veterans, if funds are available for training. Our program costs $3,000.00-$5,000.00 for civilians.

Operation Veterans' Hope is here to help homeless veterans to get off the street in a Work2Stay program. Here they are given the opportunity to get off the streets by working in a program where they will receive training and help them to enter back into the workplace. The mission of Operation First Response, Inc (OFR) is to serve all branches of our nation's Wounded Warriors and their families with personal and financial needs. Services are provided from the onset of injuries or illness, throughout their recovery period and along their journey from military life to the civilian world. Victory Therapeutic Horsemanship is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. VTH began our mission in spring of 2015 by serving disabled veterans and providing equine therapy here in Central Pennsylvania. VTH is all volunteer with no one receiving pay, compensation, or benefits. VTH assists veterans of all eras, combat and noncombat. Racing4Vets helps service disabled U.S. military veterans get directly involved in motorsports by leveraging the power of the motorsports community. Racing4Vets has two main goals: 1) Develop motorsports career training and outreach programs for service-disabled U.S. military veterans. These programs are specifically tailored to build the skills, education and job connections each individual veteran needs to be successful in his or her pursuit of a career in motorsports. 2) Provide opportunities for disabled veterans to compete in amateur motorsports by obtaining sponsorship, adapted racing gear, mechanical support and relationships with local organizers and racers throughout the U.S. Racing4Vets is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit headquartered in Mason, Ohio. We currently have 3 Chapters in Cincinnati, Dallas and Sacramento, and are adding more chapters in 2013-14. We have a partnership with the Cincinnati Veterans Administration Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Rehabilitation Program at Fort Thomas, KY. Whether it is holistic therapy, job hunting, helping to buy Christmas gifts for their children or changing out old tires for new, we work closely with veterans to understand the challenges they face and create a game plan that suits them. The TVRC will extend its' services to include Military personnel within 12 months of discharge with counseling from Military to Civilian life. Help-A-Hero Foundation is a non-profit business established to help to provide food, clothing, shelter, and basic services to our American heroes, who for whatever reason, have fallen in life and need our help. Roughly 40% of all homeless veterans are African American or Hispanic, despite only accounting for 10.4% and 3.4% of the U.S. veteran population, respectively. Homeless veterans are younger on average than the total veteran population. Approximately 9% are between the ages of 18 and 30, and 41% are between the ages of 31 and 50. Conversely, only 5% of all veterans are between the ages of 18 and 30, and less than 23% are between 31 and 50. America’s homeless veterans have served in World War II, the Korean War, Cold War, Vietnam War, Grenada, Panama, Lebanon, Persian Gulf War, Afghanistan and Iraq (OEF/OIF), and the military’s anti-drug cultivation efforts in South America. Nearly half of homeless veterans served during the Vietnam era. Two-thirds served our country for at least three years, and one-third were stationed in a war zone. VeteraNetwork is a registered 501(c)3 training organization dedicated to the development of technical skills for discharged veterans. Many veterans encounter barriers to assimilation into the United States (U.S.) job market. VeteraNetwork will arm veterans with unique Information Technology (I.T.) infrastructure skills as well as provide soft skills to help bridge the gap into the US job market. Phoenix House pledges to serve the needs of homeless, unemployed and underemployed female veterans by providing self sufficiency gateways for safe housing, transportation, specialized healthcare, financial acuity, and mentorship. Phoenix House vision is to provide an all inclusive residential facility targeted for homeless female veterans to include the “Special Needs” of female veterans who have been victims of domestic violence and trauma.

Concerts For Troops, Inc., a non-profit organization, produces morale-boosting professional live music for U.S. troops and their families. It all started at Walter Reed Army Medical Center's (WRAMC) Family Fall Festival in October 2007. This inspiring event was one of the primary catalysts for the creation of ConcertsForTroops.Org and we've found the morale boosting and inspiration to be a two-way street. "There's seriously wounded troops here that are missing limbs who amazingly and selflessly just want to get back with their combat units in Iraq or Afghanistan, and they're giving us a great, great feeling with such a great response, it's just amazing", said Founder and Music Director Bobby 'Blue' Perry, who also serves as the bandleader and guitarist of the houserockin' band Blues Unchained. Blues Unchained has donated profits from their bands t-shirts sales to help raise funds, and singer Eddie Crowe adds, "the feeling you get playing for the troops is incredible, I'll play for them anytime, anywhere". The Washington Redskins, the University of Maryland's Athletic Department, The Baltimore Sports Museums (Babe Ruth Museum, Sports Legends Museums), ESPN Sportscaster Scott Van Pelt, Fox Sports Radio, Blues Unchained, and others came together to contribute donated t-shirts, souvenirs, autographed banners and more that was distributed to the troops at the concert. The NGWRC provides education, advocacy and support for veterans suffering from the complexities of modern warfare. TLS Veterans operates New Horizons, a 20-bed transitional living shelter in Hebron, IL for homeless veterans who benefit from a more intensive period of support to reintegrate back to their own housing situation. Veterans in the program can access a variety of supports such as employment assistance, recovery support, transportation to work, reconnecting with family, and daily living skills as needed. In McHenry, veterans and families are welcomed to call or stop in at the drop-in resource center, staffed by certified veteran peer support specialists. The peer support group is there to assist veterans in need, whether the need is for support, information, referrals, or the relief of having coffee with someone who speaks the same language. The drop-in center includes a food pantry for veterans, monthly food truck, and counseling support. The VA funds a program (SSVF) for low income veterans who are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless, providing resources to be quickly rehoused and supported. The agency also offers veteran-specific employment assistance, helping with resume translation, getting prepared for employment, and finding/keeping employment.

Front Line Families is a Non-for profit providing free training for Veterans and their families. We provide project management training and encourage the veterans and their families to work in the community on pressing matters. Once the project is complete the veteran and family members receive a certificate in project management which can be used to enhance their resume while seeking employment. LCpl Lutz Buddy Up Program is an effective method by which veterans share in the responsibility for each other’s safety and well-being. Buddies are able to connect with other in person at Buddy Up COPs, online through Buddy Up social media groups, and soon via mobile through the Buddy Up App.

The Florida Veterans Foundation (FVF) team is one of the hardest working veteran advocate teams in the state of Florida. We are composed of a volunteer Chairman and Board of Directors. The majority of the Foundation Directors are retired, military disabled veterans who donate over 40 hours per week of their time to assist and help guide Florida’s veterans through a myriad of issues veterans face today. Whether it’s access to healthcare, education, jobs, VA benefits or the like, our Directors are here to help. Several Directors are trained Veteran Service Officers who know the extent, the meaning and the application of laws that have been passed by Congress in the interests of veterans and their dependents. Our Directors know the rules and regulations adopted by the Department of Veterans Affairs to clarify and implement those laws. One Team One Fight 4 PTSD educates veterans and the public sector concerning issues faced with post traumatic stress/traumatic brain injuries. Assist veterans and their families with locating outreach programs which offer free assistance for those battling post traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries. Sponsor other veteran non-profit organizations that are in hardship that offer free assistance.
