The average waiting period for a Veteran to be matched with a service dog is two to five years. There is so much information for a Veteran to take in when looking to be matched with a service dog. We will help them on their journey. Comments on the Military and Business Ownership I founded K9s Serving Vets because of a disability that began during my military service. While there are things I cannot do the military instilled in me the very strong motivation to stand by my fellow service members and Veterans. I have found a way to use my past experiences to help Veterans in need of service dogs and my doctor says that it actually helps with my disability. It's perfect!

Comments on the Military and Business Ownership I got "the call." The one that every parent, spouse, family member fears. "Mom, he got blown up" were the first words out of my daughter's mouth. My son-in-law, a Marine, and his unit were hit. He was alive, but severely wounded. Not one to sit and do nothing, I began researching for a way, ANY way, to help. What I found turned out to be life changing for all of us. SOSD now works with local veterans to provide and train service dogs (and our veterans, too) that change lives.
